  • Welcome!!!

Hey, what up! I'm Harvey. I'm an international wedding photographer from the San Francisco Bay Area. It's tough to get a feel about a person through the internet. But hopefully this blog will help you guys get a glimpse of my life. Have fun poking through my site! If you have a question or anything, feel free to shoot me an email. You can also find me on Facebook and come and hear my Tweets. Even though I call sunny California my home, I love to see the world and possibly shoot your wedding along with it. =P

Ellen + Jim | Wedding | Livermore, CA

I’ve had the privileged of shooting Ellen and Jim on their special day. What a special day it was! The weather actually cooperated that day. It was ridiculously sunny and ridiculously perfect sandwiched in between days, weeks of rain and drizzle. Was it God’s providence? I sure think so. Located at beautiful Wente Vineyards, they had an awesome ensemble of entertainment. From a mariachi band (serious?! what asian couple has a mariachi band at their wedding) to a rad dance party afterwards. Peep the pics. =)

On the party bus to the vineyards! =)

AWESOME blue shoes? Check

Mariachi Band? Check.

OMG they had the CUTEST ring bearer and flower girl. So cute!

Beautiful right? yeah I thought so. =P

They played the kissing game. And when they called one of their Aunt/Uncles it caused some ruckus amongst the older generation. hahaha!

Their rings had Chinese engraved in it! Was totally awesomes.

Now its time to get down. hahaha.

Patricia + Josh | Proposal | The Cliffs, San Diego

Last week my good friend Josh informed me that he was going to propose and that he wanted me to take pictures of whole thing. Surprised by the news, I said “Yes, I do”… haha just kidding… =P I did however say “Absolutely! I would be honored to!”

After taking the entire week off to plan and prep for it, it was time to drive down to So Cal. Josh picked me up Friday night and we spent the next 5 hours talking and catching up until we got to LA. We ghetto’d it and slept at a friend’s living room. Woke up early the next morning and headed to San Diego. When we got there, we checked out the proposal site and we walked through what was going to happen. After all that was done, we had a few hours to kill. So we checked into our hotel room and mentally prep ourselves (napped) for what was going to happen. Next we woke up, mentally refreshed, went to the proposal site, set up everything and waited for her to come and the rest was legend… wait for it… dary…. =D

We had some time before hand so I took a macro shot of the bling… balllaaaaa

The set-up… Picnic overlooking the ocean? Epic!

The man himself! Waiting, excited, anxious!

A wider shot of the site

We were waiting a while so I took pictures of the surroundings to entertain myself

It’s GO time! Patricia calls Josh just as planned…

Run Josh Run!

There she is… Waiting for her man!

annnd here he comes!!!

Wipe them tears off her face!

YAY!

Heart!

Seriously Josh is sucha sap… That’s a handmade, hand drawn card with two cartoon turtles and a big red heart… SAP!

She finally notices the rest of us!

Laughter and smiles all around!!

This is a tribute to the stupid faces Josh makes… If you saw the ESPN article about his brother (or have seen the rest of his photos on facebook) you’ll know what I’m talking about. hahaha

The crew of the event!

What proposal in San Diego isn’t complete without a 1AM Sergio’s run for carne asada and pollo asada fries?

Hearst Castle

About a month ago, 3 couples and I (yes, I was the 7th wheel) decided to go on a  Central Coast road trip for the weekend. We hit up Monterey, Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach during the trip. The mini vacay was MUCH needed as I had been @ home for pretty much 2-3 months. We did all the touristy things by day and stayed up and bonded at night. It was great times! These pictures are from the Hearst Castle portion of the trip.

This is couple #1 =p:

I believe this was just a guest house… can you imagine that? JUST a guest house…

The Neptune Pool…

Couple #2:

and #3:

The intricate ceiling work in one of the guest rooms.

The fog from the coast was creeping up towards the mountain on which Hearst Castle sits… love it.

I was practicing my no-look shooting in these next two shots

Old school ketchup and mustard… wonder if its still edible…

Decor inside the movie theater

annnnnd his indoor pool. It’s like an ancient Roman pool… Ridiculous.

and what vacation post would be complete without a food picture? =P

Golden Gate Park

My friend, Susie, really wanted to go out and take pictures for fun. She was on spring break and back at home so we decided to go to “Free Day” @ Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. By the time we got there though, there was a HUMONGOUS line and being the impatient, we decided to just roam around GGPark instead.

I decided that I would limit myself to one lens (50 f1.4) and have at it. It’s been a while since I took pictures for fun and it was a definite change of pace from taking pictures for work. Definitely need to do this more often!

There was this cute turtle… I think Susie and I stood next to this turtle talking and shooting for like 30 minutes. hahaha great times!

next are a TON of floral shots. I don’t know which I like better between the first two though.

There was this cute little squirrel eating an acorn/nut/something. Nature is so awesome when you take the time to look.

This goose wants to be a flamingo?

aaaand some architecture pictures.
