Ellen & Jim | Engaged | Capitola, CA

Ellen and Jim were a BLAST to shoot. The day started out wonderfully! They invited me over to their home to have homemade crepes for breakfast. The crepes were absolutely delicious! Wow totally blessed by Ellen’s magic in the kitchen. I couldn’t picture a better way to start the day. After a lovely meal that was full of laughs, watching soccer and bonding, we got down to business. =P hahaha!

There was this amazing vibrant red on their living room wall. It was accented by this simple white couch. Beautiful soft light was coming in from the side through sliding glass doors. I HAD to shoot in front of it. Once the camera shutter started to click, man, they were just naturals. I could see the raw emotions being displayed in the back of my camera and it was awesome. They were genuinely happy and incredibly excited and honestly that’s what made the picture.

Then we went off to Capitola. They chose Capitola because they both love the ocean. Jim really wanted to bring his surfboard (I should have bought mine too.) but there just wasn’t enough time. On the drive there it was pouring and we were a little worried about the weather. But God provided us with a bit of sunshine and some really awesome clouds! But enough with the words, it’s time for the pictures!

Didn’t I say the red wall was awesome? awesome I tell you.

“mmm sit on Jim.” – Harvey “now I wanna be on top!” – Jim haha! Totally fun loving

These next pictures may not be the “best” pictures technically. But man the emotions that shows through is just awesome!

Went to one of Jim’s favorite surf spots. I actually have surfed here before. Fun times! =) notice the AWESOME clouds in the sky. I went from rainy to awesomely sunny to sprinkle-y to sunny again. Ridiculous!

There was this small pier in downtown Capitola. There were tsunami warning signs all over the place but we braved it. Awesome location! =)
